No Merit in Meritocracy

Matt Yglesias explains why meritocracy is grossly unfair because children cannot control where they were raised and exposure to cognitively debilitating poisons such as lead and mercury, more common in poor neighborhoods, cripples that child’s abilities as they grow and when they’re older.

In truth, meritocracy, while arguably can lead to rewarding people of merit, is still an unfair system and will not work in theory nor in practice.
